Central to the development of a new brand direction and identity for Expert Reviews, was an exploration of the evolving world of reviews, what they look like, and where and when people seek them out. Working with MDs, editors, writers, and using first party data and audience research, I worked to frame a new era for a trusted industry favourite in reviews.
We wanted to bring greater agility, a sense of enjoyment, and capture a human, hands on approach in an energised wide brand usage. The core identity would be grounded in trust, with a significant design evolution to drive the brand into a new era.

Background
Expert Reviews was launched as a computer and technology trade publication in 1987, before developing into an industry leading brand reviews and awards publisher through the late 2000’s.
Recognised for a unique editorial style, and above all, the depth of high quality product testing done across a wide range of tech, home, and life products. The best of which claim the Expert Reviews badge of honour, seen on products across stores in the UK.
The Outcome
Working with two Designers, over a six week period we developed a new brand vision, visual language set, and social strategy for Expert Reviews. The new identity, set to launch in 2024, works to elevate the very best of the editorial and testing process, with a real and tactile feel, and allows for adaptive socials application.
